by Jim Schmitz
The best way to learn how to snatch and clean and jerk is to get a good coach--and they don't come any better than Jim Schmitz: three-time coach of the USA Olympic weightlifting team, founder and owner of The Sports Palace gym in San Francisco, and absolutely one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable people you will find in the sport. Jim lays out his proven approach in the number one how-to manual in the sport, and brings everything to life in the companion DVD--rustic in production quality, it's first-rate in terms of content. About 2-1/2 hr., NTSC format only.
No. 1203 (1 lb.) manual and DVD $39.90
PLEASE NOTE: While the DVD has gold medal quality content, it is a home video production, with the first couple of minutes being a little rough. Please do not buy the DVD if you are looking for a slick Hollywood production; however, if you want to learn how to lift from an expert, get this DVD and start pulling.

Awesome Instruction From A Great Coach | 11/27/2012
I purchased the book and DVD a few years ago and constantly refer to it from time to time. Like the description says, its a 5 star review for information and instruction but it is old so I know someone will not like the lack of HD, surround sound quality, or a glossy picture on the DVD itself. Bottom line though, if you want to know how to do the Olympic lifts and have a qualified coach visually show you how to do them, then this is great.

Unmatched weightlifting program | 8/28/2012
This is the most well thought out routine for weighlifting I have ever seen for a non-advanced weightlifter. Jim Schmitz is a genius. Even though it is not in a regular book format the routine is top notch.
