Charles A. Ramsey pioneered its use in the early decades of the twentieth century with such outstanding weightlifters as John Terry, and classic Soviet training literature referred to it as the leg squat. It was iconic bodybuilding author John McCallum's favorite way to squat and it has been used in recent years by some of the world's top powerlifters and strongmen, as well.
With a history like that, is it any wonder that this versatile piece of equipment is so popular? Originally developed to take one's back out of squatting, it has been used to boost sheer leg strength, not to mention one's veritcal jump; it's safe and easy to use at home; it's portable for when you travel or want to take it to the gym; and you can use it for a wide range of extremely productive lifts, including weighted chins and dips, and a variety of calf exercises. For powerlifters or all-rounders who are interested in hip lifts, there's no need to worry about whether this belt is strong enough--it holds 3,500 lb. with ease!
Straddle a short bar, clipping in front and back, or hang the weight just in the front--either way, the SUPER SQUATS Hip Belt allows you to squat unencumbered by a bar on your shoulders. And there is zero back stress--on either your spine or on your lower back--because the weight is borne by your hip structure. These belts are adjustable within about a 6" range, so please use the guide below to determine your size. Comes with a pair of Daisy Chains and two large carabiners. (Bar not included.)
